Guyan Valley Middle School – Arrival, Dismissal, Transportation & After-School Information Guyan Valley Middle School families, we would like to share important information regarding student arrival, dismissal, transportation, and after-school procedures. Morning Drop-Off and Arrival School doors open for students at 7:25 a.m. Students should be dropped off at the first set of doors leading into the cafeteria, located on the side of the school across from the football field. Please do not drop students off before 7:25 a.m. After entering the building, students will report to their designated morning locations and then to Homeroom from 7:50–8:00 a.m. Attendance will be taken during Homeroom, so students should be in their Homeroom and ready for the school day by 7:50 a.m. Afternoon Supper and Dismissal Supper is available from 3:11–3:25 p.m. The dismissal bell rings at 3:25 p.m. Students should immediately report to their assigned dismissal location. Bus Riders Students riding the first run of buses should report directly to their assigned bus when dismissed at 3:25 p.m. Students riding the second run of buses should report to the cafeteria and remain there under staff supervision. Students should not leave the cafeteria until a staff member calls their bus. Once their bus is called, students will report to their assigned bus. Buses pick students up at the same location used for morning drop-off, between the school and football field near the cafeteria entrance. The first run of buses generally departs Guyan Valley at approximately 3:30 p.m. The second run generally departs by approximately 3:50 p.m. Bus arrival and departure times may vary slightly from day to day. Parent/Guardian Pick-Up Students being picked up by a parent, guardian, or another adult listed on the student’s Emergency Form should report to the Pick-Up Line located in the main hallway between the Game Room and Library when dismissed at 3:25 p.m. At approximately 3:30 p.m., two staff members assigned to pick-up duty will walk these students to the gym, where they will be released to their approved parent, guardian, or adult. For student safety, students will only be released to an authorized adult listed on the student’s Emergency Form. Athlete Dismissal Volleyball: Volleyball players should report to the regular Pick-Up Line in the main hallway between the Game Room and Library when dismissed at 3:25 p.m. They will be walked to the gym by the two staff members assigned to pick-up duty. Cheer: Cheerleaders should report to the library when the dismissal bell rings and remain there until their coach retrieves them. Football and Soccer: Football and soccer players should report to the cafeteria when the dismissal bell rings. Students should sit at the two tables at the back of the cafeteria, furthest from the football field, and remain there until their respective coaches retrieve them. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation with these procedures. Following the designated arrival and dismissal locations helps us keep student traffic organized and, most importantly, helps us ensure that all students are safely supervised throughout arrival and dismissal.

Good afternoon, parents and guardians of Guyan Valley Middle School students. Guyan Valley Middle School will be dismissing students early today at approximately 1:30 p.m. due to a water service issue affecting the school.

The issue is related to nearby road work currently being completed in the area. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, as student safety remains our top priority. Thank you, and have a great afternoon.

Early Release
We are proud to share that our Superintendent, Frank Barnett, has invited all elementary and middle school Math Field Day and Spelling Bee winners to be recognized at the upcoming Lincoln County Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, February 24th at 6:00 PM at the Lincoln County Board of Education.

These students will be recognized for their outstanding academic achievements and for representing their schools and our county with excellence.

We are especially proud to announce that our three County Math Field Day winners — Coltyn Cantrell, Paxton Cook, and Connor Gibson — will be honored at the meeting. While we do not have any County Spelling Bee winners this year, we are incredibly proud of all the students who competed and represented our school with determination and effort.

Please join us in congratulating Coltyn, Paxton, and Connor and celebrating their hard work and success!
